Should I use Printful or Printify for POD?
Printful = quality + price + control. Printify = catalog breadth + lower margins. For DTC brands building a real catalog, Printful wins; for marketplace sellers chasing volume, Printify often makes sense.
The quality difference is real
Printful is one fulfillment provider with consistent quality. Printify is a marketplace of ~500 printers with massively variable quality. If you order 10 Printful tees, you get 10 identical tees. Order 10 Printify tees from 3 different printers, you get 3 different shirts.
For a brand where product quality is part of the brand, Printful wins. For a side-store grinding T-shirt designs for volume, Printify's catalog breadth + lower costs win.
Margins differ by 20-30%
Same product (Bella+Canvas 3001 unisex tee, single-color print): Printful base ~$13.95, Printify base ~$9.50. On a $24 retail, Printful margin is $10.05, Printify is $14.50.
If you're spending $5+ CAC on every order, that $4.45 difference compounds to make or break your unit economics.
The integration matters
Printful's Shopify integration is more mature — better mockup generator, cleaner variant sync, more reliable order webhook. Printify integration is functional but flakier. For a one-store brand, Printful is less ops burden.
