Why is my Shopify conversion rate low?

Slow mobile + bad PDP

Mobile Lighthouse score below 60 + a generic PDP with no scarcity / no social proof / no specs hierarchy → conversion below 1.2%. Fix mobile speed first (compress images, lazy-load, kill unused apps), PDP second (add reviews above the fold, sticky add-to-cart, specs table).

Cart and checkout friction

Forced account creation, no Shop Pay, no Apple/Google Pay, 5+ form fields before payment → 20-40% checkout drop-off. Turn on Shop Pay and Google/Apple Pay. Strip required form fields to email + shipping + payment.

Traffic-source mismatch

If TikTok ads send to a desktop-first landing page, conversion craters. The fix isn't always on the site — it's the ad-to-page experience match.
